Writing Coach
As an academic writing coach, I support scholars and researchers in clarifying their ideas, untangling their sentences, and using language to persuade, inform, and compel both academic and non-academic audiences. My goal as an academic writing coach is not simply to help a writer improve or “fix” the piece of writing at hand. Instead, it’s to teach and nurture the writing practices and processes that they can carry with them to future projects across their academic career.
Editor
As an academic editor, I support writers on both a language and a structural level. I specialize in simplifying language and structure while preserving complexity of meaning. This might mean shifting sentence structure, reordering information, strategically grouping and juxtaposing ideas, or finding the just-right word that conveys an idea. Above all, I edit with audience in mind, letting the writer’s intended effect on the audience guide big and small changes alike.
